From the Introduction: Here is a dynamic and urgent appeal to the church to follow the “old paths” that have led the church to experience seasons of “refreshing from the presence of the Lord” in all the centuries of her history. Here, also, are found the essential elements of a revival ministry. The book has a solid scriptural content, holy desperation, and moving exhortation. No easy way to revival is found here. No place is given to the superficial entertainment program. No hope is offered in sensational publicity, or in the employment of glamorous personnel. Revival is offered at the price of hard toil in prayer, personal work, and Bible preaching.
